Aalim (عالم) is a mobile app for learning the Quran that pairs traditional Islamic scholarship with AI. Alongside a full Quran reader — authentic Uthmani script, multiple reciters, search, and offline access — it adds an AI layer: tap any ayah for its tafsir, or record a recitation and let an AI Hifz assistant check it against the text and flag what to fix.

AI-powered learning

  • Tap any ayah and ask Aalim about its tafsir — drawn from trusted sources including Ibn Kathir, Al-Tabari, Al-Jalalayn, and Al-Sa’di
  • An AI Hifz assistant that listens to a recitation and flags words that are missing, substituted, or incorrect, with short, clear corrections
  • Memorization progress tracked by surah, juz, and time spent, with personalized insights
  • Tajweed rules shown in color, with a short explanation on tap for each one
  • Practice a single ayah or word on repeat until the tajweed is right

A complete Quran reader

  • Authentic Uthmani script, with a choice of reciters including Al-Husary and Al-Afasy
  • Search by keyword or ayah number
  • Bookmarks and highlights for favorite ayahs
  • Instant word meanings on tap
  • Surahs and tafsir available offline, for reading anywhere

Staying motivated

  • Daily goals, XP, and streaks (Alem XP) that make consistent study feel rewarding
  • A personal notebook for reflections on any ayah, organized automatically by surah and ayah
  • A progress dashboard — ayahs read, time spent, surahs memorized, tajweed mastery

The goal, in Aalim’s own words: AI that doesn’t replace the traditional teacher, but sits alongside one — guiding, correcting, and explaining, so reading, understanding, and memorizing the Quran becomes smarter and more personal. Aalim states its tafsir content is reviewed and endorsed by trusted Islamic scholars for accuracy.
