# Mobile app MVP development, from core flow to release.

[FLUIDS Studio](https://fluids.studio/about) 18 October 2026

The short answer

A mobile app MVP is a focused working app that lets people complete its main task on their phone. Its scope may also include a backend and an admin interface. FLUIDS plans these parts together and agrees whether the first release covers iOS, Android or both. Device testing, store assets, account ownership and submission requirements belong in the release plan, with external review kept separate from engineering completion.

## Design the repeated phone task first.

Start with the action that brings someone back: finding a clinic, making a booking or checking a record. Decide which device permissions and notifications that task actually needs. Optional location, camera or background behaviour adds design and testing work; each permission should have a clear user purpose rather than being included by habit.

## Include the backend and the operator's view.

The app's screens are only one side of a real service. Define who manages records, changes availability, handles cancellations or corrects content. Agree accounts, access rules and integration responsibilities. If an admin changes a request, the customer should see the right state after reopening the app or refreshing the relevant screen.

## Prepare for release while development is underway.

Identify the owners of the app-store accounts and prepare accurate descriptions, screenshots, support details and review access. Apple's guidance requires a complete app and enough information to review it. Android's release guidance covers preparation such as signing and testing. These are release responsibilities, not evidence that a store will accept every submitted app or approve it on a promised date.

## What to include in a mobile MVP release plan

| Part | Decision | Evidence to request |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Platforms | iOS, Android or both | Agreed device and OS test coverage |
| Customer flow | The task users can complete | A working test build with success and error paths |
| Admin | Who runs the service behind the app | A defined admin workflow and permissions |
| Distribution | Pilot distribution or store submission | Account ownership, assets and submission responsibilities |

## Mobile MVP readiness checklist

- The main journey works on the agreed devices
- Loading, failed requests and session expiry have usable states
- Notifications and permissions match the agreed purpose
- Store material, review access and support contacts are prepared
- Source code, accounts and maintenance scope are documented

From planning to delivery

## Mobile product evidence: Naqrah

Naqrah's project page shows a clinic-booking mobile experience built by FLUIDS. Use it as evidence of the type of mobile work we do, then define the customer and admin flows your own pilot needs.

## Questions about this topic.

**Can you build an MVP for both iOS and Android?**

Yes. We agree platform coverage during scoping and build the associated backend and admin where required. Supporting both platforms still needs appropriate device testing and release preparation.

**Are app-store approvals guaranteed?**

No developer controls the store's review decision. We agree the submission work, prepare the release and address issues within the contracted scope. Store decisions and review time remain external dependencies.

**Should I build mobile before web?**

Start with the platform that best serves the user journey and learning goal. A browser pilot may answer the current question; a phone-centred workflow may justify a mobile release. Compare both before commissioning them together.

Plan your first release

## Practical guides to building an MVP.

Work through your budget, timeline, features and platform choice. Then discuss a scope that fits your idea.

## What should your first release do?

Discuss the app or platform you want us to develop, who will use it and the workflow your first release needs to support.
